Life in Colombia, is hard. A vibrant and lush country that has unfortunately had to endure the horrors of living in a constant state of civil war. This harsh reality of their country being at war all the time has cultivated strength, perseverance and a belief system uniquely embedded within the Colombian people. You can find this in the famous story A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings written by Colombian legend Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Of course, it is truly no surprise that these traits are not only found in but absolutely bleed through the literature written by Colombian natives. The hardships of daily life and the deep belief in mysticism shapes their everyday. Currently in the United States there are twenty states with legal medical marijuana and the District of Columbia. Out of those twenty only Colorado and Washington have also legalized marijuana for recreational use.
